Sometimes it takes another artist – a poet or a painter – to reconnect me with that intense soulfulness that nature can evoke in my being. My habits of disconnection can pull me down and my heart refuses to open to what is there, available. Whenever we go to St Just in Cornwall, we visit Kurk Jackson’s gallery. On our latest visit I saw this and it woke such love, amazement and joy in me. I think he’s the best English painter of colour and light since Turner – and he is here, offering us his visions and passion. What a blessing.
